My future job

Today I will be sharing with you my Dream Future Job.

As you can see in my previous blogs, I'm a christian person, so one of my gratest dreams is to go to Africa or Asia to help people in need, know more of their cultures, an share Jesus to them (a christian mission trip).

Many of the missionaries that I know have put their professions at the service of these people, without reciving a great salary in return... just for love.

Many medical missionaries, dentist, psychologist (or related to the helth) are known... But, why can't a designer put their profession in service for the people in need? I mean, they will not be able to buy designer furniture, modern and technological products or great services, so...

When I started studying design, I remember the testimony of a graduate from the career, who told us about his experience and his degree project. His project was about a garbage collection system and solar street light, wich was designed for a small town far from technology, in the northern Chile. To make the right design, he related for a long yime to the townspeople; he knew the things they liked and his interests.

That's how I want my future job to be. I want to be able to help people who need it, to know us, to know what they like, and to be able to give them designs that contribute to their quality of life, even if it means not receiving a great economic compensation. I think I was designed for that: to design for the wuality of life of people who don't have comfort. And it will be better if I can do that in Africa or Asia, sharing Jesus to them too.
